Anxious (#poem)

Be anxious for nothing
That’s what it said
What the hell does that mean?
Popped into my head

Everyone gets anxious
From time to time
Some of us are anxious
All of the time

The anxious are tired of
Hearing your solutions
No matter what
They feel disallusioned

Life is a series of
What ifs and paralysis
Never quite sure of
The right analysis

How do they cope?
What is their dope?
Chewing gum and drawing
And pacing and pawing

The mind runs wild
Full of doubts and fear
They wish for calmness
Year after year

Be kind to the anxious
With a nod or a smile
That one act of kindness
Can last them a mile
