Today’s Thoughts #Napowrimo #Glopowrimo Day 3-2019

No prompt just stream of consciousness in the form of a poem.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why does my heart feel so heavy
Why are the skies cloudy too
Tears behind my eyes
Feels like I will cry
And then you sent a text my way
Why do the clothes get so dirty
Why does the dust reappear
Pain in my back
Pollen in my nose
And then you handed me a rose
Why are my eyes mystifying
Who is that standing over there?
Friends who care
People that will dare
To be with me until I die
Should I have stopped after the first 5 lines?
I had a song going through my head. I don’t even know the lyrics. Can you guess which song?
  1. I could hear the echo right away and searched for “it ended when you said goodbye” because I didn’t know the title.
    The End Of The World
        by Skeeter Davis
    Why does the sun go on shining?
    Why does the sea rush to shore?
    Don’t they know it’s the end of the world?
    ‘Cause you don’t love me anymore
    Why do the birds go on singing?
    Why do the stars glow above?
    Don’t they know it’s the end of the world?
    It ended when I lost your love
    I wake up in the morning and I wonder
    Why everything’s the same as it was
    I can’t understand, no, I can’t understand
    How life goes on the way it does
    Why does my heart go on beating?
    Why do these eyes of mine cry?
    Don’t they know it’s the end of the world?
    It ended when you said goodbye
    Why does my heart go on beating?
    Why do these eyes of mine cry?
    Don’t they know it’s the end of the world?
    It ended when you said goodbye
    Songwriters: Peter Mcnulty-Connolly / Marcus Mybe / Louie St. Louis / Kurtis Deshaun Williams / Michael Angelo
  2. Yours is a little different because in the song each beginning stanza ends with a sad line:
    “‘Cause you don’t love me anymore”
    “It ended when I lost your love”
    “It ended when you said goodbye”
    You end yours with optimistic lines. It works as a poem, but I don’t think you could sing a sad song happy because it would give away the ending…. Well, we’ll see if you ever write a song whether you can pull it off.
