I wanted to be a mother
It was my choice
My Womb caused much pain
Yet produced two wonderful human beings
Motherhood is rewarding and painful
Physically and emotionally
When I lost my womb
I was free from physical pain
I never experienced the physical loss of a child, but I have experienced the loss of contact. That was one of the most emotionally painful experiences of my life.
Women (are the)
Only (ones)
Meant (to have)
Babies
Thank you Womb!

Again, your words brought tears to my eyes. You are an incredibly gifted poet who wears her heart on her sleeve—at least in this place. Love your vulnerability. I think that’s what draws me most!

Acrostic and free verse! Loved you did both and your words were real and deep. Thanks for sharing, Ruth!
