My Take – #FOWC and #FDDA with Fandango

Today’s FOWC is credibility and the FDDA is a fun fact.

Fun Fact about me: How many, countries, states, cities, addresses, I’ve lived in? Yes! That would be fun. Let me find my spreadsheet. So I’ve had 28 addresses in 2 countries, 7 states, and 12 cities; (12 in Houston). Some addresses were houses, some apartments, one a trailer park. I’m only 67 years old and there is at least one more move in my future, but nothing planned at the present time.

Credibility: Would you consider someone credible if they moved all of the time? Do you judge folks who move all the time? Are apartment dwellers credible? Trailer home dwellers credible? Are renters credible? What about home owners? Are the poor credible? What about the rich? Is an embellisher credible? Is a story teller credible? If a person tells white lies are they credible?

How do you define credible? Is a truth teller credible or are they just wanting attention? I have an answer, but I will leave it up to you to answer for yourself.

If these questions make you uncomfortable, lean into the discomfort to figure out why. Thanks for reading.

  1. Wow, and I thought I moved around a lot, but you’ve got me beat by a mile. As to credibility, I do believe that a truth teller is credible and a liar is not. As to a storyteller? Well, if that’s his or profession (e.g., an author, a comedian, a playwright, a blogger posting flash fiction), yes, they can be credible for those endeavors. But if they tell real-life lies outside of that, then no, they are not credible.

  2. Looks like I’m competing with you, Ruth! LOL 22 addresses in 2 countries, 5 states, 11 cities
To answer your question, I think it depends on the person whether they are credible or not. I happened to move a lot in my childhood because my dad was in the Army. Once I turned 18, life was an adventure and moving not something to be afraid of, so when life presented changes, I didn’t hesitate to try new places out. Now that I’m approaching 60, I also am hoping there will only be one more move. 🙂
