Thanks Trent for this opportunity to share. Well I’ve smiled a lot this week watching my hummingbirds.
Today, I shared a photo posted here.
Here is another one that I considered.
A Ruby Throated Hummingbird. (Zoom in to see his detail.)

I used to love sitting on the lounge with the 500mm lens, taking pictures of the birds as they fed. I even went out and made sure our big window was clean! To me, hummingbirds seem very exotic, but I guess they must be a usual sight there?

They can be, if they migrated to the area. I feel so lucky that they found our feeder so quickly.

Yes they are. The camera has to be set up and ready to shoot or they are gone before you can pick up the camera.

You caught a hummingbird in flight… Excellent Ruth! I love them. We used to have a very high balcony off of our deck (like 3 stories high overlooking a steep drop into a small canyon) and from there we could watch the to arcs of hummingbirds as they did their romantic dive bombing to show off for the ladies. It was so fun and their flights were astounding when seen from such a high vantage point.
Thanks for the memory.
