MyTake-FOWC with Fandango-Frugal

Fandango asks us to reflect on frugal.

I ask – are you frugal, miserly, or a spendthrift?

Next question.

Are you a combination? depending on the circumstances?

To be clear, here are the definitions.

sparing or economical with regard to money or food, thrifty

a person who hoards wealth and spends as little money as possible
from Latin, literally ‘wretched’.

profligate, prodigal, squanderer, waster; informal big spender; archaic wastrel.

I am referred to as frugal, yet I do spend money needlessly at times or just because I want something. I do not use a credit card, by choice. We have been credit card free since 1992, except for one short stint to help a child that needed gas money for a trip across country for grandchild’s medical treatment.

It’s been said that in order to get out of debt, you must quit incurring debt (credit cards). So, we choose not to have one, but are thinking about getting one because of all the online fraud.

There are enough bills to pay without the extras, YET we keep adding streaming packages. The time will come when we realize we are not using them and we will cancel them.

How about you?

PS, I accuse the billionaires of being misers.
