Now that I have your attention, I’ve decided not to put away my tree until after the inauguration.
Here’s my reasoning! Have you noticed that many religions/traditions have lights added in some way? December ushers in the darkest season, with the hope of light coming.
I will keep the lights on my Christmas tree on, reminding me light is entering our world here in the USA.
(Notice, I did not say perfection or flawless-ness is coming. But I have hope that government may be a helper to unite us and straighten out the mishandling of our pandemic.)
Have a safe and peaceful new year! May 2021 bring you much cheer!

And Orthodox Christmas is on the 7th (or somewhere there) so if you take the 12 days from there you’ve got extra backing. I like your thinking.

Thanks, Ruth. I think this is a brilliant idea! And what about extending for the first 100 days in office?!? Light is a symbol of hope, and that’s what we need right now.
