My Take-The Weekly Smile for the First of February, 2021 #weeklysmile

Trent invites us to share every week.

Birds! I don’t have a photograph, but I have a snapshot in my brain.

Up until yesterday, we have only seen a robin maybe twice in three years.

Jim saw one yesterday, and it came back today, and I got to see it. (We have so many tiny birds that she looked enormous.)

This afternoon, standing at the kitchen window I saw a robin in the bush below the window. (It has red berries that grow in bunches like grapes. Jim says it is a a pyracantha? I thought it was some kind of holly. )

Back to the robin in the bush… it wasn’t just one, it was two, no three, no four…. then another one came along. They were eating the berries. The berries are all gone.

When they flew away, some flew out from under the bush.

That is my big smile of the day!

  1. When I was a kid, they used to say that robins were a sign of the arrival of spring. It seems that I now see more in the winter than any other time of year! When it is very cold and snowy, I occasionally see a lot of them together, while the rest of the year they stay single. Anyway, cool that you saw several!
