My Take – #TANKA TUESDAY Weekly #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 214, #THEMEPROMPT #DIATELLE

The prompt for this week is DREAMS. I’ve decided to try the diatelle again.

The syllable count is: 1/2/3/4/6/8/10/12/10/8/6/4/3/2/1, but unlike an etheree, has a set rhyme pattern of abbcbccaccbcbba.

  1. I like the transformation in this poem. Everything starts with a dream—where it ends up is often another matter entirely. Did you see the craziness at CPAC with the golden statue of “he who shall not be named?” Do they not see their actions as idol worshipping, something the Christians used to be so against? Wow! Excellent work, Ruth. ❤
