This month we are focussing on an end rhyme scheme. Colleen says:
Write a double ennead poem using an end rhyme scheme of your choice. You can select a theme that inspires you. If end rhyme schemes aren’t your thing, write your double ennead based on a magical experience—or do both!
3 stanza 6/5/11/6/5 ; rhyme scheme L2/L4
Guardian Angel
on that cloudy morning
almost time for school
the weatherman said possible rain wind and
the temp was very cool
please put on your coats
I opened the door and
there perched on the gate
the whitest bird, a dove, a sign of spirit
the dove sat still and calm
my son climbed the grate
I took a quick photo
the dove never moved
the wonder stayed with me, is this the angel
who protects? I approve
guardian angel

What a beautiful dove! You could be right, Ruth. I think animals and birds have a special connection to spirit. You’ve shared an amazing and magical experience with your double ennead. Well done. ❤

Thank you! i’m so happy I didn’t lose the photograph!! and I get a happy jolt when I remember that morning. Things were very chaotic and my first marriage was on a death spiral. ooh i’m going to use that in a haiku!
