My Take – TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 224, #POET’SCHOICE #ButterflyCinquain

This week is Colleen’s #poetschoice challenge. I was reading about accepting that there is injustice in the world, yet… my muse prompted this Butterfly cinquain*.

evil
causes outrage
shocking, action needed
speak boldly, head erect, protest
justice
reparations is one answer
harm persists
-centuries
unease smolders
battle

*Butterfly cinquain – a nine-line syllabic form with the pattern two, four, six, eight, two, eight, six, four, two.
