It really helps to relieve stress to write. And starting this evening I am going to help change a dressing on her leg. (Small scraping at dermatologist.)
I cannot run
I cannot hide
With us, yes, she still abides
Explain things once
Repeat it twice
Probably have to repeat it thrice
This afternoon I got no rest
Some days she really is a pest—
Insecure is my best guess
Being a carer can be trying some days, especially when there is change (new medicine, someone coming for a visit). Sometimes there is no reasoning. Stubborn is putting it mildly. It’s like have a teenager again. However, 90% of the time we get along splendidly. Did I say how old she is? And she is now slowly losing her independence. May this phase of her life be as smooth as possible.
Thank you for reading.

Hello, Ruth.
That’s a wonderful poem. You’re a hero being a carer too!

oh thank you Mason. We try and we really have it easy but it’s starting to get harder. But hopefully slowly harder.

I hope it is a very slower harder and that you can get help when you need it too.

We will get help when we need to. she still takes care of herself mostly. This bandaging shouldn’t be too long. She still does not use walking aids even though it’s getting closer. thx for your care, Mason!
