I poured out my love
you carved a hole in my heart
the well now runs dry
carry me upstream to see
the beginning of the end
This poem was inspired by Trent’s beautiful photo, and this week’s tankatuesday challenge.

I love the salmon allusion – so wistful & haunting.
Was wondering if the photographer Trent McDonald is the same Trent I follow … turns out it is! Didn’t realise he takes such beautiful photographs – I know him as an author & musician!

Ruth, this is an excellent tanka poem. I like how the two pieces fit together and mirror the waterfall! ❤
