My Take – Saddle Up Saloon; Colleen’s Double Ennead Challenge No. 9 #persona #doubleennead

Colleen invites us to write a Double Ennead about a persona or form we would choose, if we could. Click HERE for the details.

The Double Ennead comprises five lines with a syllable count of 6/5/11/6/5, (33 SYLLABLES per stanza) 3 STANZAS EACH = 99 SYLLABLES, NO MORE, NO LESS! Punctuation and rhyme schemes are optional and up to the poet.

Colleen M. Chesbro

I’d Love to be a…….

I’m here and unnoticed
hiding in plain sight
things done behind closed doors are easy to see
when I am in the room—
secret’s safe with me

I stay still and listen
or I crawl about
I don’t need an invisibility cloak
secrets would be revealed—
if only I talked!

while you sleep I’m busy
I might get too close
I startle you when I get next to your nose
It’s fun to tickle you
Ouch! Why did you swat?
