#TankaTuesday Weekly Poetry Challenge No. 268: 4/5/22 #Tastetherainbow-Color Poetry

For Day 8 I will write a #tanka for #tankatuesday’s color theme.

bright green grass and weeds
cover our backyard landscape
butterflies visit
birds come to eat seeds
gardens are starting to sprout

      1. Lucky you!! Small painted ladies can look like Monarchs – But then Monarchs through spring and summer and fall have five generations before the last groups leaves to migrate to warmer climes!!

      2. Oh, very pretty. I get some gold and purple swallowtail. One year I watched the eggs hatch on my parsley and then caterpillars just disappeared! But I think maybe some come back? I also have what some folks think is a weed – a Butterfly bush that attracts all kinds of butterflies including Monarchs. 😀
