Even though I am not following the napowrimo.net prompts, I am attempting to write more poetry especially since this is poetry month.
I was also invited to write some poetry for A Different Perspective for the NPM 22 Flex Scavenger Hunt.
Today I will attempt a decima using the theme roses. This was hard and is rough, but I’ll leave it as is.
<A decima> is a 10-liner with 8 syllables per line in the following rhyme pattern: abbaaccddc
https://www.writersdigest.com/write-better-poetry/decima-poetic-forms
roses are red violets blue
is part of a rhyme we may know
why talk about flowers that grow
rose allergy feels like the flu
what a shame, ‘cause they’re pretty too
please don’t send me a rose bouquet
friends will acquire, to your dismay
they’re fine if they stay on the vine
please understand and do not whine
save yourself time and disarray

Oh perfect. Allergies suck. The roses look pretty as they are. Plenty to love. Lovely and the rhyme is awesome. Yeah! 👏

I tend to be bothered by strong flowers.

Hehe! Well done! My son#2 is allergic to many things and having cut flowers in the house was a big NO. He’s outgrown many of them but he is still allergic to pollen, molds, grasses, and cats!

Some plants need to remain outside so their beauty can be share by all.
I did take in some hyachiths – but just a few their sent is heady too.
Allergies, one reason we have aircon… to filter the air. I know some folks like that fresh air feeling, but we’ve got to keep the ‘nasty’ stuff out of the house. 🙂
