My Take – TankaTuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 278, #SpecificForm: tanka prose

Colleen has asked us to “use a specific form this week.” My Tanka Prose follows.

Opportunity

one corner of flooded area

A flash flood, and then during a dangerous heat wave the new AC quit all in the span of 7 days. The next week the AC was fixed, and the flooded room was dried along with removing damaged walls and flooring. A chance to rebuild.

the sky gushed liquid
streets and property suffered
waters left debris
cleanup birthed creative change
rebuild brings new beginnings

Thank you for reading!

  1. Seems your damage came from outside. Ours was interior! May we both get some ‘upgrades’ that are affordable without supply chain issues. Best to you. (((Hugs)))
