My Take – TankaTuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 284, 8/9/22, #SpecificForm: 4-11

Colleen wrote: Last month, I asked Yvette Calleiro to select a syllabic form for us to learn more about. Her choice was a form that Gwen Plano created, called the 4-11. You can find her 4-11 form HERE.
The 4-11 has eleven lines, four syllables each line. Line 11 is the same as line 1.

Life has been difficult these last three months. This too shall pass, yet I needed to use this poem to express the skeleton of what has been happening in my world.

life happens when
June flood destroys
flood weakens plants
July August
extreme heat hurts
dad - hospital
ex dies - Covid
grand sick since Jan
sadness is felt
dark thick cloud looms
life happens when

Thank you for reading!

  1. I can relate, to most all of your tragedies.
May we both soon find comfort in the new days.
Swift recovery for those who are ill,
And for those who have passed, may all the nights stars be for blessings.
