My Take – TankaTuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 286, 8/23/22, #THEMEPROMPT

This week Colleen has challenged us to write a syllabic poem using the theme that Sarah picked.

☀️ Lessons from nature ☀️

water gives life
yet it destroys
discovering
crevices and cracks
in house and fence
then comes the sun
scorching temps burn
shriveling plants
trees dropping leaves
ground is thirsty
water gives life
The 4-11 has eleven lines, four syllables each line. Line 11 is the same as line 1.

Thank you for reading!

  1. Water and its many forms. I was reading just the other day that a plane from 1968 was found in a melting iceberg! I only read the headlines. But there were remains as well… I wonder if they can figure out who it was!! The drought in some areas have also made some other interesting discoveries of animal bones/ fossils and boats.
