This is the last day of Napowrimo for this year. I, for the most part, did not follow the optional prompts. I am going to write a classic nonet. From Colleen Chesebro cheat sheet, the definition of a nonet is: “Nine lines featuring a syllable count of 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 syllables per line.”
How do I get to hell?
the first step is walk away from church
but there is more to it than that
go swim with other genders
wear fashionable clothes
smoke, drink, dance, and cuss
tell lots of lies

PS When reviewing the prompt and looking for a syllabic poem, this is what came to mind—-I blame my muse.
PPS This poem reminded my husband of our first date (a blind date). Memories…. a story for another time.
